The Cure Coalition Launches to Restore Safety, Integrity, and Independence in U.S. Science
Washington, D.C. – A powerful new voice has entered America’s medical landscape. Today marks the official launch of The Cure Coalition, a national alliance of mothers, families, and advocates dedicated to one mission: rebuilding trust and transparency in American medical research and ensuring that life-saving cures are developed under the world’s highest safety and ethical standards, right here in the United States.
Founded and led by Cara Kingan, a medical professional and mother turned patient advocate, The Cure Coalition is calling for urgent reform to end political gridlock, strengthen research accountability, and restore America’s ability to deliver safe, effective, and independent medical breakthroughs.
“We refuse to let politics or foreign dependence jeopardize our children’s health,” said Cara Kingan, Executive Director of The Cure Coalition. “Every child deserves access to medicines developed under the world’s highest safety standards — tested, proven, and manufactured here in America.”

The Cure Coalition was born from a simple truth: every family deserves confidence that the treatments they rely on are safe, transparent, and guided by ethical science. The organization brings together families, scientists, and policymakers to advance reforms that protect patients while restoring integrity to the research process.
“This isn’t just another advocacy group,” Kingan continued. “We are a movement of families fighting for cures. Our children are not experiments. Our country can, and must, lead the world again in safe, ethical medical innovation.”
At a time when the U.S. faces growing dependence on foreign manufacturing and fragile global supply chains, the coalition is championing a “Made-in-America Medicine” agenda — strengthening domestic research infrastructure, reducing bureaucratic barriers to innovation, and ensuring that public health decisions are based on rigorous evidence, not politics or profit.
Founding Principles
- Patient Safety First: Every medicine available to American families must meet the gold standard of ethical, transparent, and validated research.
- Health Independence: The United States must maintain secure, domestic research and manufacturing capacity, free from foreign control.
- Transparency and Accountability: Independent oversight, public reporting, and open science are essential to rebuild public trust.
The Cure Coalition’s launch comes amid growing concern about supply shortages, global competition, and declining confidence in the nation’s research institutions. By promoting evidence-based policy, supporting visionary scientists, and empowering families to have a voice in research priorities, the coalition aims to realign medical discovery with its original purpose: to save lives, not serve politics.
Through congressional advocacy, grassroots mobilization, and public education, The Cure Coalition is building a nationwide movement to ensure that every child benefits from real science and real cures — not promises of someday.
